Quick reference for grinding weapon-category merits. Focuses on best option per category, not raw power.

Best Weapons by Category

Melee: - Slashing: Kodachi - Piercing: DBK or Macana (Macana = higher accuracy, cheaper than DBK) - Clubbing: Metal Nunchucks (good alternative to DBK/Macana meta, less accuracy/damage penalty than most clubbing) - Mechanical: Taser (hits often, low damage) or Chainsaw during Halloween event (hits rarely, high damage)

Secondary: - Pistol: QSZ 92 - Heavy Artillery: Flamethrower - SMG: BT MP9

Primary: - Shotgun: Jackhammer - Machine Gun: M249 PARA LMG - Rifle: ArmaLite-M15A4

Temporary: HEG

Specific Merit Requirements

Merit How to grind
100 Stealthed attacks Use Macana or DBK
Fire 10,000 rounds Minigun or M249 PARA LMG
1,000 critical hits ArmaLite-M15A4 + Laser mod + Crit Hit merits
Stalemate 100 times Rusty Sword + Smokes vs strong target, OR NPC fights with any weapon (also gets loot drop merit)

Notes

  • For stalemate merit: NPC fights also give chance at loot drop merit = more efficient
  • Mechanical merit: buy losses and equip only a Taser vs greenleafs (new players in newbie protection can't resist, counts as finishing hit, also counts toward defence merits)
  • Macana is often the right choice over DBK for accuracy-dependent merits
