Torn City Bank

Fixed-term investments. Options: 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months.

Like a real-world CD: you cannot add or take out money until the term ends.

Interest Merits

Use merit points to upgrade the banking interest track. This is Baldr's recommended second merit priority (after education time reduction track).

Best Strategy by Wealth Level

  • Below $2B: Use short-term 1 2 week investments. Keeps money accessible-ish.
  • $2B+: Switch to 2 3 month investments. These have the best rates. Check current rates to decide between 2 or 3 months (varies by period).

When an Investment Ends

Money stays in the bank (stops earning interest but is not in your pocket so cannot be mugged). Take it out to start a new investment.

Stock Market

Requires stock ticker: 50 points from the Points building (~$2M).

Stocks cannot be mugged. 0.1% fee on each sale.

Best stock for parking idle cash: - ~$320M investment - Weekly payout: Drug Pack worth ~$4M - Better return than a short bank bond at the same investment level

Company Vaults (advanced)

For wealthy older players only: - Unlimited storage - Requires SYS stock block (expensive) - Combined with PI vault, used by very high-networth players for everything - Not viable for new players

  3. Faction bank (accessible, small trust risk)
  4. Torn City Bank (locked for term, safe)

  6. Cayman Islands Bank (must travel to access, mugger-heavy location)
