Dog Tags Competition Guide

What It Is
A recurring Torn competition where players attack others to steal their unique Dog Tag item. Collect enough to earn merits and tokens.
The Core Strategy: Be Random
Systematic approaches fail after the first week. Everyone follows the same obvious lists. Be random instead.
- Go to the full user list: click the search bar and press enter (or bookmark it)
- Change the page number at the end of the URL to any random 5-6 digit number
- You land on a random archive page full of users
- Pick inactives from that page, attack them to take their tag
- Jump to another random page number and repeat
Who to Target
Target inactive players, not active ones. Active players have usually already lost their tag to other participants. Inactives still have theirs and nobody is targeting them.
How to spot good inactives: - Check "Defends Lost" on their profile. If it hasn't changed since the event started, their tag is likely untouched. - Very old accounts with low level = goldmine. Their tag is safe AND you can often mug them for easy cash. - Skip anyone level 20+ in the later weeks of the event. Those are likely already picked clean by systematic searchers.
Giving Tags to Friends
If you want to pass excess tags to a friend: 1. Return the tag first (don't just hold it) 2. Then have your friend attack you to collect it 3. Direct attacking someone with a tag has a cooldown after they've already been hit. Returning resets this.
