What It Is
The first crime in Crimes 2.0. Starter crime, low income ($300-700/N), but important for: - Building Crime Experience and NNB early - Getting early crime components for other crimes - Farming Theft medals (every SFC attempt counts) - Finding crime enhancers for multiple crimes
Key Items to Collect
All found through the crime itself, no need to buy:
| Item | Found In | CS Required | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glasses (enhancer) | Subway / pickpocket businesswoman | Any | +5% CE and CS gains |
| Metal Detector | Junkyard | CS30 | Unlocks Beach location |
| Cemetery Key | Beach | CS50 | Unlocks Cemetery location |
| Lost & Found Office Key | Subway | CS85 | Unlocks extra subway outcomes |
Location Guide
Trash
Success rate: peaks Monday 8:00 TCT, drops to 0% and rises through the week. Best Sunday night / early Monday. Loot: Mostly cash (86%). Items include card skimmers and spray cans. Good for rotten items merit (search trash exclusively to get all 7 Spoiled Rotten items).
Subway
Success rate: varies by number of active players online. Loot: Money majority but consistent. Best for billfolds (~9% chance). Items include the Lost & Found Office Key at CS85. Best general location — most stable throughout the day.
Junkyard
Success rate: peaks Sunday/Monday morning. Loot: Highest item drop rate of all locations. Best for crime components: card skimmers, spy cameras, rope, blank DVDs, computer parts, enhancers. Also Metal Detector at CS30. Best for building component stockpiles.
Beach
Requires Metal Detector. Success rate follows tide cycles (high/low). Loot: Mostly junk. Highest injury rate. Notable: Cemetery Key at CS50, sand (for Forgery/future crimes) only at low tide (70%+ tide reading).
Cemetery
No key needed beyond Cemetery Key. Most consistent success rates: 25% when groundskeeping is active (weekdays 9-5 TCT), 75% otherwise. Loot: Hit contracts, car keys (future crime components), fertilizer, candles. Good fallback when other locations have low success.
Fountain
Unlocked at CS75. Monthly success cycle (0% on 1st, peaks 30th/31st). Loot: Disappointing. Spray cans, loot containers. Low priority unless grinding skill level at high CS.
Best Locations by Goal
| Goal | Location |
|---|---|
| Fast skill progression | Subway (most consistent success) |
| Crime components | Junkyard |
| Theft medals | Any — all SFC attempts count |
| Sand for Forgery | Beach at low tide + Bucket |
| Rotten items merit | Trash |
| Stable fallback | Cemetery |
Honour Bars
| Honour | How |
|---|---|
| Pay Dirt | Reach Crime Skill 100 |
| Spoiled Rotten | Find all 7 rotten items (from trash only, can't buy them) |
| Shore Thing | Find Sand while searching beach during low tide (70%+ reading) |
Optimal Timing
- Subway: Any time, success rate scales with player activity
- Junkyard: Sunday night through Monday morning
- Trash: Saturday night through Monday morning
- Cemetery: Avoid weekday 9-5 TCT (groundskeeping cuts success to 25%)
- Fountain: Use near end of month (30th/31st)
