What Is Forgery
Crime 11 in Crimes 2.0. You pick a project (fake document), complete multi-step crafting, get the item. Each step costs 5 nerve.
Progression Path (Recommended)
- Driver's Licenses from start until CS50 (safe, nearly zero crit)
- Travel Visas from CS50 to CS100 (best CS/nerve efficiency, ~4k/nerve profit)
- Optional: swap to License Plates at CS90 to stock for future OCs

Critical Failure Mechanics
- Normal failure: uses consumables, no other penalty
- Critical failure: sets back project progress (sometimes scraps entire project)
- Crits at the final step hit harder because the CS multiplier applies to both gains AND losses
- Prison time: none (confirmed). No jail outcomes in Forgery.
Key Materials to Know
- Sand: limits Skeleton Keys, Police Badges, ATM Keys. Hard to get.
- Blowtorch: 4 uses total. Needed for Police Badges and ATM Keys.
- Bond Paper: 100 sheets per purchase. Used in half of all projects.
- Bonded Latex: single use. Makes Passports expensive.
- Certificate Seal: single use, expensive. Avoid Diplomas.
Tools (not consumed): Printer, Scissors, Fountain Pen, Perforator, Crucible, etc. Some tools get "locked" during steps requiring multiples if running parallel projects.
Honors and Merits
- Documented Success honor bar: reach CS100
- Assembly Line honor bar: have 10 of same project in cooldown simultaneously. Do License Plates at CS25 (step 2 Background Painting has 1hr cooldown).
- All attempts count as Counterfeiting offenses (shared with Bootlegging, which is better for grinding those medals).
