Sweet Shop Job (Energy Cans)

Source: Baldr's Basic Advice (Baldr [1847600]), thread t=16034448.

Why Sweet Shop

Recommended first company job for new players: - Low working stat requirements to get hired - 7+ star shops unlock the key special: trade job points for energy cans - Energy cans are one of the highest-value items in the game per unit of effort

The Energy Can Special

At 7 stars or higher: spend job points to get energy cans.

Energy can sell prices: - Small: ~$1.5M $2M - Medium: ~$2M $3M - Large: ~$3M $3.5M

You accumulate job points just by having the job (one per star per day, so 10 point/day at a 10-star company).

This is essentially passive income. Show up, collect job points, convert to cans, sell cans.

Minimum Star Requirement

7 stars minimum. Below 7 stars, the energy can special is not available. Do not join a sweet shop with fewer than 7 stars.

10 stars is ideal: more job points/day, more director trains/week.

Director Trains

Companies give a limited number of "trains" per day based on star count: - 3 star = 3 trains/day - 10 star = 10 trains/day

Trains give bonus working stat boosts from the director. More stars = faster stat growth = faster progression to better jobs.

How to Get Hired

  1. Go to Newspaper > Job Listing > Sweet Shop
  2. 10-star companies list first
  3. Look for company names with "hiring" in them
  4. Do NOT just apply. Message the director first. Say your work stats (Manual, Intelligence, Endurance) and that you are active daily.
  5. Only send the application after they confirm they will hire you (you can only have one active application at a time)

Other Notes

  • Jobs do not pay well in Torn (except Oil Rigs and TV companies which need extremely high stats)
  • The value is always in the JOB SPECIALS, not the salary
  • You never lose accumulated job points when changing jobs, they carry over
  • Some company perks (like energy cans) are only available at specific star counts
  • Money Making Overview
  • City Shop Flipping
  • Tesla City Careers (different from company jobs)
