Company Bars Explained

Efficiency Bar

  • Most important bar. Shows average employee effectiveness
  • Capped at 100% display but true value can exceed 100%
  • Drops from: drug use, inactivity, not meeting stat requirements for job
  • Rises from: employees meeting/exceeding job stat requirements
  • New employees start slightly ineffective and settle in over just over 1 week

Environment Bar

  • Affected by drug users and inactives (they lower it)
  • Low environment can lower company income by up to a third
  • Cleaners boost environment more than managers but don't help efficiency
  • Managers boost efficiency but increase environment less
  • Fewer employees than the maximum slightly increases environment
  • New company starts at 100%, drops after first working day

Manager Effectiveness Formula

Each effective manager reduces the missing effectiveness of all employees by 25%. Example: Employee at 60% effectiveness: - 1 manager: 60% → 70% - 2 managers: 70% → 77.5% - 3 managers: 77.5% → 83.1%


Key Mechanics

Daily Report

Arrives just after 6pm TC time in company main news. Shows: daily profit + customer count. Detailed stock breakdown in pricing section.

Training Employees

Company gets trains equal to its star rating per day. A 3-star company = 3 trains/day. A 10-star = 10 trains/day. Hiring employees in Trainer positions increases daily train count. Trains give employees a boost to their primary and secondary recommended working stats.

Job Points

Employees receive job points per day equal to company star rating. Unused job points carry over to the same company type if an employee rejoins later.

Settling In Bonus

New employees take just over 1 week to reach full effectiveness. Do not hop between companies.

Company Upgrades

Company size, storage size, and staff room can each be upgraded 6 times above base. Upgrade cost scales with the company's initial startup cost. Final stage of all upgrades requires Bachelor of Commerce education.

Selling a Company

Can sell back to system instantly for 75% of what was spent (startup + upgrades + purchased stock). Can also sell to another player for potentially more if it is well-performing.


Employee Tips

  • Be active at least once daily
  • Settle in (over 1 week) before expecting full effectiveness
  • Manage drug use: drug use hurts efficiency and environment
  • Job specials unlock as company star rating increases
  • If you get a better offer elsewhere, tell your director first (loyalty can get you a raise)
  • Job points = company star rating per day
  • Unused job points from the same company type carry over if you rejoin

Director Tips

  • Mix job positions for optimal income (not just copying others, your employee stats will differ)
  • Use secretaries to get per-employee profit breakdowns at end of each day
  • Price stock slightly above what you paid, but below RRP to build customer loyalty faster
  • Some companies are busier on specific days (pubs/clubs/restaurants = busier on Saturdays)
  • Advertising budget must be actively adjusted to stay competitive
  • Hire managers to compensate for underperforming employees
  • Invest in relevant stocks (TC Media, Tell Group) before scaling
